This island was once called the Kingdom of Ryukyu. It has a unique culture that differs from that of Japan.
I visited this place in 2022.
There I went canoeing through mangrove rivers. I also talked with the people here.
This area was most affected by World War II in Japan.
I described the people’s cheerfulness, kindness, and fragility as if it were a time tunnel of history.
